You would never have known to look at me.
When i was a lesbian teen i was very dysphoric for years, and it was because of being gay.
The only aspect that was relatable to me (goldstar) was making up a fake crush to tell your friends so they don’t ask why you don’t seem into men. One can only deny the body what it needs for so long. I cant even imagine how bad the tensions between bisexuals and lesbians will be if docs like that are funnelling loads of straight and bi women into the “lesbian” community. Does anyone who took that doc seriously even have a body? Are they all virgins?! How confusing for bi women, omg. REAL physical attraction to women even less than a footnote. Or The Bisexuals Guide to Unhealthy Self-Denial, Women’s Edition It would be better titled the (Mostly) Heterosexual Woman’s Guide to Debunking REAL Attraction to Men, TUMBLR Edition. I read that insane doc and I have never seen anything less lesbian-related in my entire life that has “lesbian” in the title aside from porn.Īn entire document devoted to brushing off opposite sex attraction. So, I’m just really confused as to why I’m starting see people (particularly younger people tbh) to rely upon this resource.Īnd another thing that confuses me about it, is that when I mention I’m a lesbian to people now, they tend to ask “Oh, did you read the lesbian master doc?” And I just sit there bewildered like… “I mean, yeah I skimmed over a little bit since people were hyping it up so much.” But like? Why would someone think I need to figure out I’m a lesbian based off a essay? It’s just weird… But like uh… those don’t count as academic resources. But I do want to express my confusion as to why it’s become such a well-regarded source, especially through platforms such as Tiktok or some subreddits.Īs far as I know, the doc was made by a 19 year old individual (which is a bit funny, since I’m also 19) that didn’t provide source have any specific citations… except for tumblr accounts that can be seen near the end of the page. I’m not trying to completely shame anyone or the doc.
Just to preface, I’m sure that the lesbian masterdoc has helped some people come to terms with their identity.
